Dr. Weston serves as Poma's Laboratory Director. He earned his Ph.D. from Cornell investigating molecular mechanisms of maternal recognition of pregnancy and using electron microscopy to investigate placental remodeling. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Oregon Regional Primate Research Center developing new culture systems and strategies for non-human primates that were immediately implemented into culturing human embryos. He has 30 years of experience in the field and is certified as High Complexity Laboratory Director, Technical Supervisor, and Clinical Consultant.




He has also served as a CAP inspector. Having worked as an off-site lab director for several labs and as a per-diem embryologist for a dozen more, he is able to bring perspectives and approaches to IVF from across the field. Dr. Weston has also been involved in the design and build-out of several state-of-the-art laboratories. He is married with 2 kids. Hobbies include skiing, fly fishing, kayaking, and mountain biking. He also taught a 10-week class at Central Oregon Community College on Beer Brewing and worked as an analytical chemist for an EPA testing firm.
